Ongoing Personal Reflections
Thoughts on "ice-breakers": By making essential agreements people have a chance to voice their concerns and get speaking. It helps us relax if we can voice our fears. By having the group owning the agreement, people may feel more inclined to follow it.
Diplomacy is paramount when leading workshops.
However, we discussed how some people are not open to these sorts of activities and that we need to differentiate for them. By keeping ice-breakers short to gauge reaction and then being prepared to shorten them if necessary, we may be able to turn the tide.
Ice-breakers we have liked
What has led to me being here today? What has been the most significant moment/devlopment in my IB journey?
Hmmmm... thats a tough one. Seven years experience led me to start innovating with such documents like qualitative and qualitative teacher assessments of UoI. My entry into the online world of edtech has helped me realize an incredible outlet for my love of creation and sharing and these two sets of circumstances, I suppose, have led me here.

Word: Collaboratively; I am an independent learner in recovery.
Phrase/Criteria: Demonstrates a solid understanding of the articulation of the three programmes. I know the PYP, am learning the MYP but do not really know the DP or IBCC

When using examples of your own make sure:

- I quite liked going around there room trying to find one peso who fits one of every criteria on a grid.
- Booklets had colors, letters and numbers to organize groups ahead of time.
- Find a partner, introduce your partner to the group or table.

- PYP is a unified, inquiry-based, concept-driven curriculum delivery framework aiming to produce internationally-minded individuals with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to take meaningful action.
- MYP is a connected multi-disciplinary curriculum delivery framework with a focus on process as well as outcomes encouraging students to become more aware of their individual learning styles.
- DP is the culminating curriculum area of the IBO. There is an extended essay and external moderation.
Key Understandings: Authorisation and Evaluation Process
- There are very specific steps prescribed at every stage of the process.
- There is a close relationship between the interested school and their consultant.
- By the time of the verification visit (formerly authorization visit) schools should be ready as a result of this relationship.
- While we may not present about this in every workshop we still need to know it.

When using examples of your own make sure:
- You mention that it is only an example not the only IB way but an example.
- Mention that there may be better examples available.
- Ask for other examples from group.
- Supply more than one example for a compare and contrast activity.
- Have participants build in their own context.
